Most would agree that at some point between Fenton and Phteven, the internet reached canine oversaturation. Dogs paw for our attention at every turn, nuzzling their way into every available media outlet. This intense competition for stardom is leading many mutts to innovate; to find new ways of drawing clicks and inspiring memes.
One such trailblazer has this week caused something of a stir off the coast of South Korea. The as-yet nameless pup turned to the unlikely platform of Google Street View in order to make its mark, and the gamble appears to have paid off, attracting coverage from a number of publications including The Verge.
The island of Judko is not only stunningly beautiful but also very sparsely populated, which made it a savvy choice for our doggo to take centre stage. It’s less than half a mile long and a third of a mile wide and a 2004 census revealed that only one family of three considered it home.
The photographer was an employee of Daum, a Google Street Map provider, who wore a backpack to allow him to reach areas where their cars will not.
It is the ultimate photobomb.
